Tools for Aircraft Repair

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Flights are unlike ordinary vehicles their design and structure is unique. Aircraft tooling is quite difficult and it requires special tools. These tools will help in installation, removal and maintenance of flight parts. Plane tools vary from flight to flight. The tools used for repairing the flight depend on the company who built the aircraft. Most of the aircraft shops supply tools based on the type of flight.

Many tools are used in repairing the aircraft engine parts. Some of the common tools available in market are drilling machines, EMR guns, aircraft assembly fixtures and aircraft engineering devices.

Software also acts as a tool in aircraft repair. Today the technology has created easier ways for repairing the flights; most of the aviation companies are using software robots for cutting, drilling and installation of aircraft parts. Good aviation software has the ability to accurately estimate the structure and shape of the aircraft. If it can capture the design perfectly, building the aircraft will be easy.

Besides the tools required for carrying general operations, pilots also require some special tools for carrying out flight operations inside. All these tools can be bought from a good pilot shop. Most of the pilot shops offer required equipments like GPS systems, Maps, Goggles, Toggle watches, etc, for pilots.

Scooter, a self-propelled object is a great ride for one or two. However, in order to keep the joy rides happening it is necessary that you keep it upgraded and maintain it on regular basis, for which you need to have Scooter parts are designed for different sections of the automobile unit. The eco-friendly ice car

Friday, September 5th, 2008

British sports car maker Lotus has unveiled a new model that runs on biofuel, and can do up to 84mph (135km/h) over snow and ice.

The Concept Ice Vehicle (CIV) is a one-seater that has been installed with a supercharged motorbike engine, and can operate in temperatures as low as minus 72C (minus 98F).

The company has revealed that the new car has been designed for an expedition to the South Pole, organised by the explorers Andrew Moon and Andrew Regan.

Another purpose of this creation is to raise awareness of climate change and to demonstrate the efficiency of biofuel, say the makers.

The CIV weighs just 350kg (790lb), enabling the crew to pull it by hand over bumpy areas, and has radar to spot crevasses hidden under the ice.

Kieron Bradley, a former Formula One chassis designer who has built it, says that he has tested every component of the vehicle, which has been put together from microlight parts, in Lotus’s cold chambers to test its ability to survive very low temperatures.

The E85 bioethanol fuel used in the vehicle can reduce emissions by about 70 per cent compared with ordinary petrol.

“If you can run biofuels successfully in the most harsh and extreme environment in the world, then there is no reason why you can’t use them to get to the supermarket,” Times Online quoted Regan as saying.

The electric car….

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

I just met Edmond X Ramirez in a super market(about an hour ago),hes 73 years old and we got to talking,he told me about how he had invented the mini van,and a version of the electric car with a computer way before they were putting computers on board automobiles.Edmonds stories were interesting I thought, then he told me to look up amectran.com.Im amazed that weve had this technology for 20 years and we havent pushed it.This guy was way ahead of his time. If you have a moment look up amectran.com and tell me if you think this guy got a raw deal(much like Tucker did),Have the auto manufacturers been hiding this tech,so they could get govt grant money and squander it?

We had virtually free oil from the end of Gulf War 1 so it hasn’t been worth developing. We had weapons inspectors touring Iraq and a cuckholded Saddam undercutting OPEC for years so electric made no sense economically and couldn’t attract investment.
Beware the environmental arguments, shipping the chemicals around the world to make the batteries then disposing of those poisons is vastly more dirtly than clean combustion at source. The lifetime carbon footprint of small electrics that are disposable/waste after not many miles is greater than even Land Rovers or Jeeps.

Company’s do restrict developments that might commericaly damage them ( such as the ‘everlasting lightbulb) but electric cars have a slightly different issue. they are caught in an infrastructure trap which they must break out of to be commercialy viable for a large market.
To gain mass acceptance and there by be a big commercial success they need a mass market. For a mass market in a new car type a new kind of infrastructure is needed. Charging facilities and mechanics parts to support the new engine etc. These wont occur with out demand, demand wont occur with out them since people are leery of buying a car that will be hard to fule and maintain. Catch 22. Many car manufacutes do research in to alternate car engines, hydrogen fule cells etc. So that should a big switch happen there not left behind the market curve. But they wont develop it for general release because it would loose them money, why make an electric car that will be a loss for several years, when a new petrol engine design will make you money this year? So you get slow incremental growth of the ‘alternate’ car market occasionally built up when circumstances like the current oil price make selling a non-petrols car a good marketing prospect.

Is there a way to shut of the engine light in a 2008 toyota sienna van after i change the oil?

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

or is there more to it then that like something wrong with the motor

If it is the Maint Soon light it is easy.
Make sure the odometer is on the Odometer setting.
Turn off the ignition, press the trip button and hold it, turn the ignition on and watch the display. It will be all dashes and count down to all zeros, when the odometer reappers relaese the trip button. Done

10 Year Toyota Master

………………….

On my 06 4runner you press and hold the button in on the odometer with the key off. While holding the button you turn the key to the on position without starting the motor. Continue to hold the button in until the odometer flashes 0s or dashes. the light will go out and the light will reset for your next 5k maint. Be sure the odometer is displayed and not the trip meter.

……………………

my toyota has a service soon light for oil changes so i dont think your check engine light would be for oil changes. if its the service light then you have to hold the trip meter reset while you turn the key on and off.

………………..

Chad is right. I have an 06 Sienna and I found that same info in the owners manual. You might have to look for a while but it is there.

……………….

Go to dealer as will shut off after checking on diag to make sure that something else is not wrong. Could be sensor or nothing or many other minor or less likely major things wrong

I drove home and and parked my car. now it starts and cuts off. now it wont start.wats wrong?

1997 nissan altima

sounds to me like ignition coil, fuelpump or relay,or even a dist cap rotor wires, even just the coil wire.it could even be a injector

………………

sounds to me that the anti theft is activated, the computer lets the engine start but gets no signal from the key fob telling the computer that someone is trying to steal it.We have a lot of this coming in to the shop.are you using a duplicate key? if not try locking and unlocking the car with the remote a couple of times then jump in and try again, lots of cars need to have the key reprogramed from the dealer

…………..

Sounds like a starter issue. I had a car that did that. I had to get a hammer and bang on starter to get it to turn on, until i could replace it…it was embarrassing :) Is it a standard? You could test this if it is by trying to pop start it, if that works, that’s probably the problem.

…………….

Could be alot of things, when it shuts off does it act like it is running out of gas or like you turned the key off? It could be as simple as a fuel filter or it could be any number of sensors or modules.

How can you get your drivers license at12?

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

I know there is a way if both of your parents are severly handicapped and cannot do basic things (get grocerys and things) you can get some sort of driving permit. Also if you live somewhere where you cannot get a ride to school (including public trans.) you can get a permit. Both of those things are something to look into and most likely the ONLY way to get it. A buddy of mine even has someone in his family that works at the DMV and is high up and cant get this license till 15. Its the only way.

I wanted to do the same when i was of age

It’s really rare. Basically, you have to live on a farm and be able to prove that you need it for operating vehicles and machinery to help work the farm. Otherwise, it’s not gonna happen

Why make your Jap Cruiser try to imitate a Harley? If you don’t like Harley then why copy?

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

With the exception of the buell, I don’t see guys trying to make their Harley’s look like Yamahas, Hondas or Suzukis.
Please don’t give that lame excuse about “over-priced” or “Harley break downs” We all know better.
You guys do realize that if it wasn’t for Harley, your cruiser bikes wouldn’t exist. You do know this right?
Not trying to be a jerk - I just don’t get it

Some of you are missing the point of my question…If you don’t like Harleys that’s fine, but why try to make your jap bike look like a Harley especially if you don’t like them - THAT’S what I don’t get..

Shortbus, you got it backwards. Read your history. Honda motorcycles didn’t come into existence until HD went to Japan. Respect is given when and where due.

As far as a cruiser must look like a cruiser because that’s what it is: I can’t fault the basic argument, but….. it’s the details. There are parts on Japanese cruisers that are intentionally made to mimic the look of a Harley. Why have a cover that looks like an HD air cleaner when the air filter is under the seat? Or fins on a water cooled engine? Certainly not function.

Joe, I understand the question, and I’m at a loss as you are.
I know why the manufacturers make copies: sales.
I think proper attitude is somewhere in the owner’s manual none of them read.

I don’t ride a cruiser.

Live Free Or Die.

Harley does have their own mystic. There are unfortunately lots of people that cannot afford Harley’s and the look a likes are cheaper. I think that is what it is all about. I ride a V-Max and the Harley’s just don’t perform like I want a Motorcycle to. I don’t know how the look a likes perform compared to Harley’s. I like all of them

……………

I like motorcycles and I am proud of mine….those of us who choose to ride “cruisers” - Don’t have much of a choice in how the bike is laid out….it is a type of bike…..not a brand….Harley makes “cruisers” —- that’s all. Even the V-Rod is a “power cruiser.” So when we buy a “cruiser” we want to customize it to make it our own….It’s not the fact that we want to make it look like a Harley…..I own a Suzuki Marauder 1600 because I like the looks of the bike……Could I have bought a Harley, sure, but Harley hasn’t changed their bikes for several years….I wanted a shaft driven bike for low maintenance, I wanted a water cooled engine for stop and go traffic, and I wanted fuel injected for better throttle response….In other words I wanted something that I could enjoy with my type of riding and a non-harley served the part better…..I will admit that a Harley is the BEST sounding bike out there……But I will give up sound for a better ride. (Comfort and smoother ride)

I am looking for a product that can be mixed into gloss paint to remove sheen.?

Friday, June 13th, 2008

The product is not to be used on already applied paint to degloss. but to be mixed into paint mix before application to remove gloss / sheen.

You need flattner. Most auto paint stores will carry it. DuPont makes a flatner, part # 4531S. You need to be sure to add the proper amount or you could end up with a chalky sheen.

12 yrs paint experience

…………

You can try talcum powder. Be sure to try this on a scrap piece of metal and see how it works for you. I used to use it when I was building model cars, but the theory should still hold.

…………

Are you talking about something like a flat black paint job?

Flat Black:

If so you need that kind of paint.

…………

If you want a non shiny sheen you should get that kind of paint. They make all kinds, flat, eggshell, semi gloss, high gloss, and so on get the right kind you want.
